FASHION: Model Italo Ravelle, from Brazil, conquers the world of fashion by giving visibility to albinism

Young 25 years, who has starred in campaigns for brands such as O Boticário and Banco do Brasil, will tell in live day 27\7 the challenges and achievements of the career

The model Italo Ravelle (@italoravelle), 25, from Joinville, will count in a live the challenges and achievements of his career, marked by breaking stereotypes and giving visibility to albinism. It will be on the 27th (Wednesday), at 19h, on instagram @userockfella. He will be the first guest of the painting "Histórias que Inspiram", conceived by the rockfella moda rock'n cult brand (@userockfella), in partnership with the agency of models Gas Models (@gasmodelsfloripa), of which he is part – both companies are from Florianópolis.


The initiative aims to disseminate inspiring stories of agency models who have been standing out for escaping the conventional standard of the fashion world and defending the flag of inclusion. The next lives will be with other professionals who also have representation in specific topics such as: Madu Rosa @maduardars (autism), André Gaiad @andre.gaiad (ethnic), DJ Scher Souza @sc.her (feminism), among others.


Italo says that his career began suddenly, when he was walking the streets of São Paulo and was approached by a photographer. Soon after the first work, the renowned stylist Alexandre Herchcovitch called him to a parade. The model was the first albino to act for the brand and then also the pioneer at São Paulo Fashion Week. He also campaigned for major brands such as O Boticário and Banco do Brasil.


"Something interesting is that with my work, the albino public began to feel included and represented. Many of these people began to believe in themselves. I have even helped many to start their careers. This is very important, because albinos are still ashamed of people's reaction. There's still a lot of prejudice," he says.


Italo explains that albinos are not even in the ethnic options of the vestibular. "We are unknown, most people do not know who we are. It is not permissible for this matter to be forgotten in the middle of 2022. It's a big fight. But I believe it is changing and will be different for my children and grandchildren," he says.


About the project – The lives "Histórias que Inspiram" are part of the project "Brands with Purpose", which aims to bring together companies and people who defend values such as respect for diversity, inclusion and justice. "Rockfella takes the philosophy and attitude of rock to fashion in its clothing, seeking to break paradigms, generating positive social impact, in order to encourage a society with more respect for the human being and the environment," says Rafael Calza, CEO of the company. The brand's t-shirts address historical moments, social movements and emotions/reflections of everyday life.


Gas Models, on the other hand, has been standing out nationally for having a casting composed of models with representativeness, which are outside the conventional standard, defend causes and inspire/influence people. "When we were invited to the project, we saw that it had everything to do with us, because we always seek professionals (models) who can represent inclusion and reflection. Rockfella's values and purposes are well within all of this," says Andrea Damiani, a partner at the agency alongside Dangelo Peixer.
